Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, is seeking an experienced Connector Development Engineer to advance next‑generation interconnect products. You will design and develop signal and power connectors and cable assemblies, collaborating with customers and global teams to meet performance, reliability, and cost targets.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, proof-of-concept to qualification, and close coordination with Manufacturing and Sales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field.
• 5-8+ years of experience in connector/cable assembly design and development.
• Proven experience with card edge, memory, power connectors and high-speed cable assemblies.
• Familiarity with PCIe, DDR, OCP, JEDEC, SFF standards.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling (Creo) and PDM systems (Windchill) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and execution of connector development projects from concept through qualification.
• Design high-speed connectors, power connectors, and cable assemblies.
• Collaborate with global customers and cross-functional teams to define requirements.
• Apply knowledge of server/storage architectures and standards to guide developments.
• Develop prototypes, oversee testing and qualification, ensure compliance.
• Conduct cost analysis and provide design trade-offs for manufacturing.
• Benchmark competitors to drive performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Provide technical support to Sales and Marketing, including customer training.
• Partner with Manufacturing to address cost reduction and quality improvements.
