Mechanic Technician Advisor

Sign-on Bonus: $1,500 for new hires, payable after 90 days of employment.

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C., is hiring a Mechanic Technician Advisor in Dulles, Virginia. The role involves completing service assignments, providing technical assistance, and promoting quality, safety, customer satisfaction, and teamwork within the department. Candidates should have at least five years of experience with heavy construction equipment. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
  1. Good troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and repair equipment accurately.
  2. Ability to operate heavy machinery occasionally.
  3. Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
  4. Leadership ability to motivate and guide employees.
  5. Effective time management and relationship-building skills.
  6. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under stress.
  7. Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office and service software; capable of completing reports and work orders.
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and customer interactions.
  9. Flexibility to work shifts including days, nights, and weekends.
  10. Ability to promote a positive customer experience and uphold company values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, and Teamwork.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear regularly. Frequently required to sit and lift/move up to 70 pounds. Vision abilities include close and distance vision with focus adjustment. Additional duties may be assigned.
