Job summary

Pike Industries, Inc., a CRH company in Vermont, is seeking a Mechanic Intern to learn repair and maintenance of our heavy equipment in the shop. You’ll gain hands-on experience with loaders, graders, pavers, dump trucks, and trailers.

You will work with work orders, inventory systems, safety regulations, and preventive maintenance while supporting the fleet’s upkeep and compliance. Starting pay is $19 per hour, with benefits, retirement savings, and opportunities for growth within CRH’s

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Technical College degree program.
• Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and possible overtime.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, including loaders, graders, pavers, dump trucks, and trailers.
• Help with the work order process, from creation to completion.
• Learn to troubleshoot mechanical issues and conduct preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment.
• Support inventory management and track vehicle condition reports.
• Become familiar with safety regulations and compliance requirements for the fleet.

What You Can Expect

As a Mechanic Intern, you’ll work in Pike Industries' shop, learning the repair and maintenance practices necessary to keep our equipment fleet operating safely and efficiently. You will gain experience with a wide variety of equipment, and learn about inventory management, safety regulations, and work order processes.

You can expect: - Hands-on experience with different types of heavy equipment.

• Opportunities to work on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Training on the use of work orders, inventory systems, and vehicle condition reporting.
• Exposure to state and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA, MSHA).
• A fast-paced environment where you’ll work closely with experienced mechanics.
