Job summary

Pike Industries, Inc., a CRH Company, is seeking a Mechanic Intern in Vermont. You’ll work in our shop, assisting with repair and preventive maintenance of a wide range of heavy equipment and learning inventory and work order processes.

Enrolled in a technical college, you must be able to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, and have a valid driver’s license. Starting pay is $19.00 per hour with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, including loaders, graders, pavers, dump trucks, and trailers.
• Help with the work order process from creation to completion.
• Learn troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment; support inventory management and vehicle condition reporting.

What You Can Expect

As a Mechanic Intern, you’ll work in Pike Industries' shop, learning the repair and maintenance practices necessary to keep our equipment fleet operating safely and efficiently. You will gain experience with a wide variety of equipment, and learn about inventory management, safety regulations, and work order processes.

• Hands-on experience with different types of heavy equipment.
• Opportunities to work on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Training on the use of work orders, inventory systems, and vehicle condition reporting.
• Exposure to state and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA, MSHA).
• A fast-paced environment where you’ll work closely with experienced mechanics.

What You Will Do

• Assist with the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, including loaders, graders, pavers, dump trucks, and trailers.
• Help with the work order process, from creation to completion.
• Learn to troubleshoot mechanical issues and conduct preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment.
• Support inventory management and track vehicle condition reports.
• Become familiar with safety regulations and compliance requirements for the fleet.
