Job summary

Compass Group USA’s Canteen division in Dover, DE is hiring a full-time Mechanic I to operate and maintain building systems, including HVAC, boilers, generators, and steam equipment.

You’ll read meters and gauges, respond to repair dispatches, inspect and replace worn parts, and help ensure safe, reliable operation across facilities. Monday–Friday schedule; some holidays and weekends may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains equipment including HVAC systems, high-pressure boilers, generators and steam equipment.
• Reads meters and gauges at intervals to verify operating conditions.
• Responds to dispatch calls for machine repairs using company vehicle.
• Inspects machines for wear and malfunctions; replaces worn or defective parts and realigns components.
• Reviews inventory and orders parts; maintains equipment inventory.
• Sets up and operates mechanical equipment and small tools for repairs.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment and adheres to safety protocols.
• Contributes to team professionalism and excellent customer service.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
