Job summary

Compass Group USA’s Canteen unit in Jacksonville, FL is hiring immediately for a full-time Mechanic I. The role maintains equipment across HVAC, boilers, generators, and steam systems, with scheduled hours 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

The job requires hands-on experience with basic hardware tools and carpentry; box truck driving experience is preferred. You will read meters, inspect machinery, replace parts, and keep the facility safe and running.

Qualifications

• Previous experience using basic hardware tools and carpentry preferred.
• Previous experience driving a 26-foot box truck preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains equipment including HVAC systems, boilers, generators and steam equipment.
• Reads meters and gauges to verify operating conditions and records data.
• Responds to dispatch calls for machine repairs using company vehicle.
• Inspects and replaces worn parts, realigns components and tests operation after repair.
• Keeps inventory, ships/receives machines, and maintains equipment records.
• Sets up and uses hand tools for machine and equipment repair; maintains a safe workspace.
