Job summary

Compass Group USA's Canteen in Vista, CA is hiring for a full-time Mechanic I. The role operates and maintains HVAC systems, boilers, generators, and related equipment; performs basic repairs and diagnosis, and ensures safe, reliable operation.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with online applications accepted. Candidates with previous small equipment repair experience and a Type I Refrigeration Certification with a valid Non-CDL Class C license are encouraged to apply;

Qualifications

• Previous small equipment repair experience preferred.
• Type I Refrigeration Certification & Valid Non-CDL Class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains equipment, including HVAC systems, boilers, generators, and steam equipment.
• Reads and records information from meters/gauges to verify operating conditions.
• Responds to dispatch calls for machine repairs using company vehicle.
• Inspects and replaces worn parts; tests machine operation after repair.
• Maintains inventory and cleans/organizes work area.
