Job summary

Sun Tran in Tucson is seeking a MECHANIC to perform major and minor repairs on motor coaches, inspect and adjust equipment, and ensure safe operation under supervision.

Applicants must have four years of automotive/truck/heavy‑duty maintenance experience, possess a CDL or current driver’s license, and be able to obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, retirement plan and tool/shoe allowances.

Qualifications

MECHANIC

SALARY: $29.65/hr
Top Rate - $32.95/hr
(Increases every contract year)

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have a minimum of four years’ experience in automotive, truck, bus, or heavy-duty maintenance and repair with specific emphasis in the following areas: engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, steering, basic electrical and climate control.
ALL APPLICANTS MUST POSESS EITHER A CDL OR A CURRENT VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S LICENSE WITHIN 90 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
Performs major or minor repairs to motor coaches, inspections, adjustments and replacement of units under the supervision of a shop foreman or mechanics of a higher classification.
