Job summary

Transdev North America in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Level 1 Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across a variety of vehicles and equipment. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and longevity of our fleet.

The position operates under a collective bargaining agreement with starting pay at $25.25 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and ASE testing/repair support provided by the company.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided.
• Must have a Mechanic's Tool Set.
• Shift flexibility and ability to work varied schedules.
• DOT drug testing and physical may apply per DOT 49 CFR Part 40.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostics and repair tasks.
• Execute routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to identify issues and plan comprehensive repairs for diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting including overhauls and rebuilding components to spec.
• Other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
