Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a skilled Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair Ride Care fleet vehicles. You will perform routine tasks, diagnostics, and auto-body repairs to keep vehicles safe and operational.

You will maintain detailed maintenance logs, handle engine/transmission work as needed, and travel up to 10% for on-site service. Strong tool proficiency and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years proven experience as a mechanic.
• ASE certification helpful but not required.
• Proven ability to work alone and manage time effectively.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to travel 10% (local and out of state).
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the fleet of Ride Care vehicles and detailed maintenance logs.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and brake repairs.
• Inspect, identify, and repair safety issues and components.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and auto-body repairs when needed.
• Replace engine components, engines, transmissions, and differentials.
• Perform A/C repairs and refrigerant recharge.
• Tune-ups, spark plug/wire replacement, and sensor cleaning.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and organization.
• Travel as required to service vehicles.

Job description

The highly skilled Mechanic will inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles to ensure their optimal performance and safety.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain the fleet of Ride Care vehicles, developing and ongoing and detailed maintenance log for every vehicle in the fleet.Assist with retrieval of fleet vehicles when deemed undriveable, working to restore the vehicle to operations quickly.Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and brake repairs.Inspect and identify safety and repair issues.Conduct diagnostic tests to identify vehicle issues and auto-body repairs when necessary.Diagnose leaks effectively.Replace engine components (including head gaskets, shocks, struts, front end components).Remove and install transmissions, transfer cases and engines.Rebuild differentials and transfer cases.Perform A/C compressor and component repairs and recharging.Perform brake lining replacement.Tune up, replace spark plugs, wires, clean throttle body and clean air flow sensors.Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workshop.Other duties as assigned by the manager or other leadership.Requirements3-5 years proven experience as a mechanic.ASE certification helpful but not required.Proven ability to work alone, managing time effectively to produce results.Operate with flexibility and adaptability to any environment, making immediate decisions and resolving conflict.Operate in highly stressful situations from both internal and external sources.Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment.Expertise in conducting brake repairs, maintaining vehicles, and performing auto-body repairs.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to travel within and outside the state as needed (10%).
