Job summary

Cornerstone Builders of SWFL, Inc. seeks a Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of trucks, vans, and equipment to keep operations safe and compliant. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and document work.

Responsibilities include inspections, parts management, on-site emergency repairs, and clear communication with drivers and fleet managers. ASE certification is desirable; training provided as needed, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in automotive technology preferred.
• Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with fleet or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.
• ASE certification desirable but not required.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance: oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, and fluid replacements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles, including engines and transmissions.
• Conduct thorough inspections to ensure safety and emissions standards are met.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections; document parts used and labor hours.
• Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Ensure all work complies with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and regulations.
• Provide clear communications to drivers and fleet managers about issues and repair timelines.
• Follow safety protocols and on-site safety guidelines; assist in emergency repairs when needed.
