Job summary

Qualifications

  • Two years of auto mechanic experience.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair vehicles and follow safety instructions.
  • Proficient with hand tools and other equipment.
  • Excellent active listening, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to keep confidential work documents and communicate diplomatically.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical components of vehicles with the team.
  • May perform test drives, inspections, and other diagnostics to identify problems and parts needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance: oil changes, fluids, brakes; repair body and paint exterior.
  • Generate timelines and estimates for repairs and discuss options with clients.
  • Inspect internal systems and controls to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of clients, vehicles, parts, and service history.
  • Use shop equipment for maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and helping prevent problems with vehicle performance and ensure that vehicles operate in a safe, reliable manner.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Works with the manager and other mechanics to diagnose and repair the mechanical and electrical components of vehicles.
  • May perform test drives, inspections, and other diagnostic tests on vehicles to identify where problems exist and determine which parts need to be repaired or replaced.
  • Completes preventative maintenance on vehicles, such as performing oil changes, flushing and replacing fluids, and replacing brakes.Repairs damage to the body of the vehicle and washes and paints the vehicle's exterior.
  • Supports generating timelines and estimates for repairs and discussing options with clients.
  • Inspects internal systems and controls to ensure the vehicle is operating properly and in compliance with state regulations.
  • Maintains accurate records relating to clients, their vehicles, parts, and service history.
  • Uses shop equipment as instructed, performing regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience & Education
