Job summary

Hy-Vee in the Meat Department is seeking a Meat Clerk to deliver prompt, friendly service, assist customers, stock cases, trim and prepare retail cuts, and help with seafood displays.

You will follow sanitation standards, wrap and label products, and collaborate with the team to maintain a clean, organized department in a fast-paced retail setting. A High School diploma and food safety training are preferred; six months of related experience is acceptable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with food safety training.
• Six months or less of similar or related work.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service in the Meat/Seafood department.
• Wrap, weigh, and label products; trim steaks, roasts, and chops.
• Prepare seafood items for display and maintain sanitation.
• Assist customers by guiding to products and handling out-of-reach items.
• Maintain stock levels, rotate product, and report out-of-stock items.
