Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Meat Clerk to provide friendly customer service in the Meat/Seafood Department. You will wrap, trim, stock cases, and receive merchandise while upholding sanitation and safety standards.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, guiding them to products, taking orders, and helping teammates to ensure a smooth shopping experience. Previous experience in retail meat is a plus, and physical ability to lift and move heavy items is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; food safety training.
• Six months or less of similar or related work in a retail meat department preferred.
• Must be able to lift and move heavy items and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service in the Meat/Seafood Department.
• Wraps, weighs, and labels products; stocks cases and rotates product for freshness.
• Assists customers by locating items, answering questions and processing requests.
• Maintains cleanliness, proper sanitation and safe operation of equipment.
• Reports out-of-stock items and helps with sign preparation and department tasks.
