Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Meat Clerk to deliver prompt, friendly service in the Meat/Seafood department. You will wrap, weigh, label, stock cases, and assist customers with product selection and requests.

Responsibilities include maintaining clean, organized displays, following sanitation standards, and collaborating with teammates to ensure a smooth shopping experience. Ability to lift up to 85 pounds and work nights/weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; six months or less of similar work in retail/meat.
• Food safety training or certification is preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 85 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service in the Meat/Seafood area.
• Wraps, weighs, and labels product; stocks cases and rotates products.
• Assists customers by guiding them to products and taking orders.
• Maintains sanitation and organizes displays; keeps work area clean.
• Reports out-of-stock items to appropriate personnel and assists coworkers as needed.
• Adheres to department and company policies and procedures.
