Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market seeks a senior leader to shape the Meat & Seafood Merchandising strategy and execution. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 10+ years of progressive retail merchandising, category management, buying, or fresh food leadership experience; meat and/or seafood experience preferred
• Strong commercial leadership translating strategy into executable plans delivering sales, margin, shrink, and customer experience results
• Ability to lead a fresh business with multiple operational touchpoints (sourcing, replenishment, distribution, store execution, quality, food safety)
• Proven ability to build differentiated category strategies, simplify assortments, improve item productivity
• Strong understanding of meat and seafood categories, protein commodities, product specifications, quality standards, supplier capabilities, seasonal demand
• Strong analytical skills linking financial, customer, competitive, commodity, and store-level insights to actions
• Experience in supplier strategy, negotiations, vendor accountability, cost management, and innovation development
• Ability to influence across merchandising, sourcing, supply chain, operations, finance, marketing, ecommerce, analytics, and field leadership
• Leadership style: direct, accountable, collaborative, action-oriented; capable of talent development and accountability

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of 3-5 year Meat & Seafood strategy
• Influence enterprise merchandising priorities, investments, and operating strategies
• Own category performance: sales, margin, shrink, inventory productivity, customer experience
• Establish category vision, assortment, pricing, promotions, and innovation strategies
• Leverage insights and trends to identify opportunities and drive decisions
• Build strategic supplier partnerships for quality, cost, and exclusive products
• Partner with Sourcing, Supply Chain, Replenishment, Planning, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Ecommerce, Field Leadership
• Champion product quality, food safety, and supplier compliance
• Lead cross-functional resolution of significant issues and drive sustainable improvements
• Engage field and suppliers to translate strategies to store execution
• Develop talent, build bench strength, and coach teams for stronger performance
• Communicate strategic performance and opportunities to senior leadership
