Job summary

Joe V’s Smart Shop, a division of H-E-B, seeks a Quality Control Expert I for its Greater Houston market department. You will ensure top quality and freshness, manage packaging and labeling, and uphold food safety standards on a daily basis.

Responsibilities include inspecting products, rotating stock, and assisting customers with meat selections while adhering to SOPs and safety guidelines. 18+ and meat QC training are required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed and be certified by the Meat Quality Control Expert Academy.
• Retail market/food experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the highest quality and freshness standards and communicate expectations.
• Inspect and audit market products and provide feedback on meat product quality.
• Scan re-works and inventory for accurate production lists.
• Stock and rotate items in market cases, frozen food cases, shelves and coolers.
• Ensure signs and tags are in place and products are labeled correctly.
• Follow SOPs for weighing, wrapping and labeling meat products.
• Practice safety awareness at all times.
