Job summary

Joe V’s Smart Shop, a division of H-E-B in the Greater Houston area, is seeking a Production Specialist to ensure in-store produced items meet quality standards and are merchandised effectively. You'll help prepare foods, monitor production flow, and uphold product integrity for customers.

You will provide friendly service, answer questions, and work with the team to rotate stock, label packages, and maintain sanitation.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Experience in customer service and/or food preparation/service.
• Understanding of product rotation and department sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Cut, slice, dice, and chop food in the prep area.
• Package, label, and display products on the sales floor.
• Maintain sanitation in food prep areas.
• Mix, bake, decorate, and tray products.
• Weigh, wrap, and price packages using PLU codes.
• Stock and rotate items as needed.
• Collaborate with leadership to order product and wrap.
• Report missing signs or tags to managers.
• Report out-of-date or damaged product to managers.
• Organize and clean prep areas, freezers, coolers, ware room, and sales floor.
• Check shipments for freshness and quality.
• Sanitize equipment and work areas.
• Comply with procedures and regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service and answer questions.
• Explain preparation, safe handling, and nutrition as needed.
• Assist customers with selections.
• Stock/merchandise products to engage customers.
