Job summary

Joe V’s Smart Shop, a division of H-E-B, is seeking a Meat Cutter I to provide fresh, high-quality products and exceptional customer service in a well-maintained department. You will cut, trim, tray, and merchandise meat daily while upholding food safety and sanitation standards.

The role emphasizes accurate labeling, proper storage, and teamwork with other Market staff to ensure top-quality products and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Meat Cutter certification or completion of Meat Cutting Academy required.
• Retail/food experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, trays meat for display per standards.
• Operates grinder, saw, knife sharpener, tenderizer, slicer.
• Weighs, wraps and labels product for sale.
• Rotates product in meat cooler and on the sales floor; maintains storage practices.
• Maintains safety and sanitation across the department.
• Provides consistent customer service and handles cross-functional tasks as needed.
