Job summary

Indiana Ag Connection in northern Indiana is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the meat processing floor on a 12-hour, rotating 2-2-3 schedule. The role emphasizes safety, food safety, quality, productivity, staffing, and employee performance on site.

You will supervise daily operations, train staff, and ensure the daily production plan is met while maintaining GMP and sanitation standards, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising production floor in a meat processing setting.
• Meat processing or food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership and people-management abilities.
• Knowledge of GMP, sanitation, and HACCP principles preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a refrigerated production environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily meat processing operations.
• Lead, train, coach, and develop production employees.
• Assign staff and resources to meet the daily production schedule.
• Monitor output, labor, yield, waste, downtime, and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, sanitation, and procedures.
• Maintain focus on employee safety and workplace standards.
• Lead shift start-up meetings and communicate priorities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and respond to equipment problems.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Sanitation, Shipping, and other departments.
• Complete production paperwork and shift documentation accurately.
• Hold employees accountable for attendance, performance, safety, and quality.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce waste.
