Job summary

SpartanNash in Omaha, NE is seeking a meat prep associate to independently prepare, package, display, and stock meat products in our store. You’ll follow production plans, label items, and ensure food safety and guest experience guidelines are met.

The role supports the meat department by rotating stock, communicating weights, and coordinating with teams to drive store growth while adhering to PPE and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write and interpret documents.
• Basic math skills for weights and measures.
• Detail oriented with accuracy in packaging and labeling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and Produce Meat Products to Production Planner.
• Package and Label Meat Products per program plan.
• Merchandise Meat Products per Flight plan/Merchandising Expectations.
• Stock Backroom with Meat Products – Rotating and Dating Cases/Buckets.
• Notify the Meat Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Work as a team with other departments and Stores to achieve growth in our SpartanNash Retail stores.
• Understand basic functions of adding, subtracting, multiplying and division.
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates.
• Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines.
• Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations.
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines.
