Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Meat Associate to prepare and package meat products, merchandise items, and stock the backroom. You will coordinate with the Meat Manager on orders and support guest experience and safety guidelines in a fast-paced retail environment.

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma (GED preferred) and some retail experience; basic math and strong attention to detail are important. This role may involve duties in other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce meat products to production planner.
• Package and label meat products per program plan.
• Merchandise meat products per flight plan/merchandising expectations.
• Stock backroom with meat products – rotating and dating cases/buckets.
• Notify the Meat Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Work as a team with other departments and stores to achieve growth in SpartanNash Retail stores.
• Understand basic functions of adding, subtracting, multiplying and division.
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates.
• Follow all PPE and safety guidelines.
• Follow all food safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Additionally, this role is responsible for meeting company guidelines for guest experience, as well as complying with company guidelines for safety and food safety.
