Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, train and direct Meat department associates; perform production and customer service functions; maximize store sales and profits.
• Keep department temperature logs updated and maintain accuracy; train and follow up with meat staff on logs.
• Perform and direct pricing and display of merchandise; maintain signage, rotation, freshness, quantity and space allocation.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results.
• Train and develop all Meat department employees to emphasize customer courtesy and productivity.
• Implement company programs and adhere to policies, ensuring a harassment-free environment.
• Make hiring, firing, disciplining, transferring and evaluating recommendations for meat staff.
• Promote company initiatives and process improvements to the team.
• Demonstrate ability to manage people and workloads.
• Supervise and coach direct reports; conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts in a professional, nonconfrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
