Job summary

Kroger is seeking a results-driven Meat Department Manager to plan, organize, train and direct department associates, ensuring safe handling, accurate pricing and top-quality customer service in a high-volume store. You will implement company policies, monitor performance, manage scheduling, and coach staff to meet budgets and service standards while upholding safety and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop maximum customer relations through friendliness and courtesy and implementation of all company policies.
• Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained; train and follow up with Meat department associates on temperature logs.
• Perform and direct others in pricing and displaying of merchandise; ensure proper signage and rotation.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results.
• Train and develop all Meat department employees, emphasizing customer service and productivity.
• Implement company programs and adhere to policies, maintaining a harassment-free work environment.
• Make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, disciplining, transferring and evaluating meat department staff.
• Promote and communicate company initiatives and process improvements to direct reports.
• Demonstrate ability to manage people and organize workloads.
• Supervise and coach direct reports; conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced, sometimes stressful environments; manage conflicts constructively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information; follow directions and resolve issues.
