Job summary

ShopRite of Wyckoff is hiring a Meat Clean-Up Clerk to maintain a clean and sanitary Meat Department and assist with related duties as directed by the Meat Department Manager. Key requirements include the ability to lift 35–90 lbs, work in varied temperatures, read and follow safety guidelines, and interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil code regulations.
• Ability to regularly lift 35 lbs. and occasionally lift 80-90 lbs.
• Ability to handle products without negative allergic consequences.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned schedules and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize all surfaces, utensils and equipment per standards.
• Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
• Assemble and disassemble all Meat Department equipment such as band saws and grinders.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and inform manager when low.
• Work in refrigerated and frozen areas as required.
• Check prices and know item locations.
• Promote current charitable promotions to Customers.
• Stand at workstation for full shifts; overtime may be required.
• Observe safety and QA standards and sanitation requirements.
