Job summary

ShopRite of West Long Branch in New Jersey is seeking a Meat Clean-up Clerk to maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the Meat Department and surrounding areas. You will perform duties prescribed by the Meat Department Manager to ensure equipment, premises and fixtures stay clean and safe for customers and staff.

The role requires reading, basic math, ability to lift heavy loads, and adherence to health regulations. Training, benefits, and a structured work environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for a full shift.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs regularly and 80-90 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to handle fresh, dried and processed products and spices.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly way.
• Ability to work cooperatively and adhere to schedules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces, utensils and equipment per standards.
• Keep floors free of debris and spills.
• Assemble and disassemble Meat Department equipment.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and inform management when low.
• Work in refrigerated and frozen areas with appropriate temps.
• Check prices and locate items in the store.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Stand at the workstation for scheduled shifts and meet attendance policies.
• Follow COO regulations and safety guidelines for products.
