Job summary

A background in retail with management experience and strong communication is preferred. Responsibilities include overseeing P&L, staffing decisions, and ensuring exceptional service during peak hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service flow experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear direction to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information for decisions.
• Experience leading teams with a focus on safe work practices and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote career paths and development for team members; participate in promotions decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions; make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales and maintain shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentor team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure team training and completion of required training.
• Maintain store appearance and prime shopping hours; ensure adherence to Meijer standards.
