Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct and supervise team members across departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service, and ensure operations align with company standards for a fast-paced retail environment in Ohio.

The role emphasizes staffing, scheduling, training, and implementing strategies to improve sales while maintaining shrink and P&L accountability. Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas (meat, bakery, produce and deli) and customer service experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development for team members; involved in promotion decisions.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations.
• Mentors and coaches team members to exceed goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensures the team is thoroughly trained in all aspects of their jobs and have completed all required training.
• Spends majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to deliver exceptional service.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
