Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service, and manage staffing and hiring to meet store needs.

You will promote career development, handle disciplinary matters, and oversee P&L while ensuring sales targets and shrink controls are maintained. A strong focus on teamwork and safety is essential to success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members in the organization in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and by addressing root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day operations within various departments of the store.
• Mentor and coach team members; implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and provide career paths.
• Document disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Ensure P&L responsibilities, achieve sales and maintain shrink for the department.
• Ensure team training and safety policies are followed.
