Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; food safety training preferred.
• Completion of Hy-Vee food safety training and related coursework is advantageous.
• Experience with handling meat products and safety procedures is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service in the Meat Department.
• Assist Department Manager to maintain freshest, highest quality products.
• Greet customers, learn names, and address them respectfully by name when possible.
• Prepare cutting lists, rotate displays, and ensure proper temperatures and storage.
• Train new employees and supervise Meat Specialists and Clerks as needed.
• Order new items beyond routine replenishment and support pricing goals.
