Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking an Assistant Meat Department Manager to supervise the Meat department and assist the Department Manager in delivering fresh, high-quality products at competitive prices. You will provide prompt customer service, train staff, and maintain department standards and sanitation, ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, cutting/testing duties, and collaboration with store leadership.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Experience with Hy-Vee meat safety training and related food safety courses.
• Relevant food safety training or courses are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing items, loading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions.
• Trains new employees and supervises Meat Specialists, Meat Wrap Coordinators and Clerks.
• Ensures department standards, freshness, proper rotation, and adherence to safety and sanitation procedures.
