Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking an Assistant Meat Department Manager to support the Meat Department in delivering fresh, high-quality products and excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will assist the Department Manager, supervise Meat Specialists and Clerks, and ensure adherence to freshness, safety, and display standards while training new staff and handling customer needs with professionalism.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• Hy-Vee food safety training is required.
• Cornell Home Study food safety course is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service.
• Assists Department Manager to present fresh, high-quality products.
• Train new employees and supervise Meat Specialists, Meat Wrap Coordinators, Clerks.
• Ensure proper temperatures, sanitation, and rotation of products.
• Answer customer questions and fulfill product orders.
• Maintain department standards and cleanliness.
