Job summary

Kj’s Market in Aiken, SC seeks a Meat Department Supervisor to lead daily meat operations, supervise staff, and ensure quality, sanitation, and safety standards. You will coordinate cutting, weighing, pricing, packaging, and merchandising, while training team members and meeting productivity goals.

You will unload trucks, maintain coolers/freezers, manage inventory, and provide excellent guest service. A strong background in meat operations and supervising others is preferred; 18+ with ability

Qualifications

• High school education and 1–3 years meat or supermarket experience.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of meat operations.
• Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push/pull stock carts for extended periods.
• Meat cutting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow weekly meat sales programs to maximize sales.
• Meet budgeted gross profit figures for the Meat Merchandising Dept.
• Prepare all meat records as required by Accounting & Merchandising.
• Follow company policies on cutting, weighing, pricing, packaging, and displaying.
• Unload trucks and maintain backroom storage.
• Maintain coolers and freezers to standard.
• Control inventory and protect assets.
• Enforce sanitation, food safety, and safety standards.
• Assist guests and maintain positive customer relations.
• Consult Store Manager on meat ops, planning, and scheduling to meet objectives.
• Schedule department staff and ensure productivity.
• Ensure department runs in compliance with company standards.
• Train and develop department staff; build talent bench for promotable individuals.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
