Job summary

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Ability to read and write for tagging merchandise, ordering, and inventory.
• Strong analytical skills to study reports and keep department profitable.
• At least two years of meat cutting experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication with customers, employees, and vendors.
• Dexterity to cut and trim meat accurately.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds frequently.
• Must comply with safety and labeling laws.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a weekly schedule based on projected sales and workload.
• Collaborate with Store Director on localized Meat Dept merchandising plans.
• Follow department plans for space management and profitability.
• Order merchandise and control inventory to minimize stockouts and overstocks.
• Receive, weigh, and breakdown meat and related products.
• Cut and trim merchandise to company standards.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and conduct performance reviews for Meat Dept staff.
• Ensure clean, attractive department image and proper safety procedures.
