Job summary

Responsibilities include ensuring health regulations compliance, managing shrinkage, and maintaining a clean, customer-friendly department while delivering accurate records and bi-weekly inventory data.

Qualifications

• High school education minimum requirement.
• Ability to read and write to tag merchandise, order and maintain inventory.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills for dealing with customers, employees and vendors.
• At least two years experience as a meat cutter.
• Dexterity to cut and trim meats.
• Ability to lift up to seventy pounds forty percent of the time.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a weekly schedule based on projected sales and workload.
• With Store Director, develop localized department merchandising plans.
• Follow department plans for space management based on demand and profitability.
• Order merchandise and control inventory to minimize stockouts and overstocks.
• Receive, price, and restock to ensure quality and rotation.
• Control shrinkage and pilferage losses.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and conduct annual performance reviews.
• Maintain equipment and department maintenance programs.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and customer-friendly department.
• Submit required records, reports, and bi-weekly inventory.
• Observe local conditions and competitive activity and inform others.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and government weights and measures, and labeling laws.
• Greet customers and be observant.
• Ensure lock out/tag out procedures during repair or cleaning.
• Receive, weigh, and breakdown meat and related products.
• Cut and trim merchandise as directed by company standards.
• Abide by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.
