Qualifications

• High school education required.
• At least two years experience as a meat cutter.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for interacting with customers, employees and vendors.
• Ability to lift up to seventy pounds and perform physical tasks in a meat department.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all Meat Department functions to meet sales and profit goals.
• Prepare weekly schedules based on projected sales and workload.
• Develop localized merchandising plans with Store Director.
• Order merchandise, control inventory, and minimize out-of-stocks and overstocks.
• Control shrinkage and pilferage; maintain department image and cleanliness.
• Supervise, train, schedule and conduct annual performance reviews.
• Maintain equipment, cooling and safety compliance; ensure health regulations.
• Greet customers and ensure quality, accuracy and proper labeling of products.
• Cut, trim and prepare meat according to company standards; restock and price as required.
