Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Bench Department Manager to lead the meat department, ensuring top-notch guest service and strong financial results. After training, the role may move toward a Department Manager position within 30 miles as opportunities arise.

The candidate should have 3-4 years of progressive supermarket experience, be 18+, and be capable of lifting 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently while supervising staff and maintaining meat operations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school education and 3-4 years of progressive supermarket experience.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs constantly.
• Knowledge of meat operations.
• Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
• Strong communication, guest service, and selling skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service in the meat department.
• Achieve budgeted financial results.
• Prepare product for sale according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain in-store selling culture and merchandising programs; manage stock and pricing.
• Schedule the department.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and audits.
• Teach and train departmental staff; develop bench talent.
• Maintain sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Own the meat department including seafood and coordination with DSD/scan coordinator.
• Create a selling-focused, enthusiastic environment for guests.
• Perform PA announcements and other tasks as assigned.
