Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Meat Department Lead at our Anderson, IN location. You will oversee day-to-day department operations, manage inventory, and ensure product quality and safety while training associates and meeting performance goals.

You will cut and prepare meats, coordinate with the Department Manager, and maintain knowledge of store promotions to enhance guest experience. This role requires strong team leadership and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
• Basic mathematical skills
• Detail Oriented
• Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain department inventory using company guidelines
• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, and weight
• Assist Department Manager in supervising staff and tasks to ensure quality and rotation
• Maintain familiarity with products and department stock
• Know advertised items and store sales features
• Communicate and execute weekly flight plans
• Follow scheduling tools to manage department staffing and payroll
• Implement and monitor department forecasts and goals
• Maintain clean and well-stocked department and enforce food safety and PPE guidelines
• Provide excellent guest experience and assist in other departments as needed
