Job summary

SpartanNash in Elkhart, IN is hiring a meat department role to support day-to-day store operations. You will train staff, ensure proper meat cutting and quality control, manage inventory, and help meet department goals while following company policy and safety rules.

Responsibilities include ordering and maintaining inventory, cutting and weighing meat, reviewing orders, coordinating with the Department Manager, and keeping the department clean and well-stocked for a great guest experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills for measuring and pricing.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets).

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading day-to-day department operations in the store.
• Order and maintain inventory while ensuring product freshness and quality.
• Cut and weigh meats and prep products per standards.
• Review received orders for accuracy and quality.
• Support Department Manager in staffing, training and coaching.
• Maintain a clean, well stocked department and follow safety guidelines.
