Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Lead, Meat in Sparta, MI to oversee day-to-day department operations, training, staffing, and adherence to company standards. You will cut and prepare various meat cuts, manage inventory, and ensure product quality and safety, contributing to store goals.

The role requires basic math, reading and writing skills, and comfort with simple computer tools; physical work includes lifting and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain inventory in the department using inventory control procedures.
• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight.
• Assist Department Manager in managing a team for stocking, production and tasks.
• Maintain familiarity with all products and promotions in the store.
• Follow flight plans and communicate schedules to meet company expectations.
• Ensure food safety and PPE guidelines are followed; take corrective action if needed.
