Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Meat Cutter at our Family Fare location in Litchfield, MN. You will cut, weigh and prepare a variety of meats following company standards and recipes, maintaining quality, cost controls and a clean, safe department.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of retail or meat-cutting experience; prior meat-cutting is preferred. Excellent attention to detail and customer service are essential. Travel not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year retail or related experience preferred.
• Prior meat cutter experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings.
• Produce value-added products per guidelines.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections to reduce to cooking cuts.
• Follow recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausage and other products.
• Price, date, wrap and bag meat products per guidelines.
• Fill, rotate and merchandise shelves, cases and displays.
• Notify manager if products and supplies need ordering.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise.
• Be familiar with products and price differences.
• Practice suggestive selling with customers.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked department.
• Follow PPE, safety, food safety, and cleaning guidelines.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments.
