Job summary

Ascend Grocery, LLC in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Meat Cutter to maintain the store’s meat department to high standards and prepare standard cuts. You will merchandise, label, and price meat while upholding sanitation and food-safety rules to maximize sales.

Responsibilities include cutting, packaging, dating, and rotating stock, plus assisting with displays and product ordering as needed. Must be 18+, HS diploma, and complete training within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Complete Save-A-Lot Meat Cutter Training within 3 months.
• Experience cutting meat with hand tools and power equipment preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and dependable, flexible.
• Adherence to uniform dress code.

Responsibilities

• Works under the direction of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
• Cut and package authorized beef, pork and poultry per Save-A-Lot policies.
• Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat.
• Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and Save-A-Lot standards.
• Ensure displays and case signs are updated to maximize sales and merchandised meat.
• Maintain date rotation and proper storage of meat and perishables.
