Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking an experienced Meat Cutter to join our team in Virginia. The role focuses on cutting, prepping, and merchandising meat products with emphasis on quality, safety, and customer service.

You will support a fast-paced store environment and mentor Meat Cutter Trainees while upholding store standards and health regulations. The position requires strong cutting skills, 14+ months retail experience, and completion of related training programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in meat department operations and cut prep.
• Completion of butcher/apprentice program preferred or equivalent training.
• Willingness to comply with health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Cut, plate, and merchandise beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.
• Prepare specialty meat items (sausages, oven-ready products, cured meats).
• Ensure products meet quality standards and manage spoilage.
• Maintain sampling, pricing accuracy, and cleanliness of work area.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist team members as needed.
• Support trainee meat cutters and mentor junior staff.
