Job summary

Meat cutters are responsible for keeping the meat cases stocked with fresh, high-quality meat and poultry products for customers. They receive, stock, cut, wrap, and merchandise items, while ensuring accurate weights and pricing. They also stock prepackaged items and help maintain department presentation.

They assist customers with special requests, answer questions about products, and help enforce inventory control and proper product rotation to maximize freshness and minimize waste.

Qualifications

• Must be able to frequently lift 35 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Receive, stock, cut, grind, wrap, weigh, price, and attractively merchandise meat department products.
• Stock prepackaged meat items and frozen food products that fall under the meat department.
• Assist customers with special requests and answer questions about our meat products and services.
