Job summary

ZippyApp - Recruitment Marketing is seeking a Meat Cutter to ensure the meat cases are stocked with fresh, high-quality products and to assist customers with inquiries.

The role involves receiving, stocking, cutting, grinding, wrapping and weighing meat, merchandising it attractively, and using equipment like meat saws, slicers and grinders. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and have a high school education or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must be able to frequently lift 35 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Stock meat cases with fresh, high-quality products.
• Receive, stock, cut, grind, wrap, weigh and merchandise meat department items.
• Stock prepackaged meat and frozen items in the department.
• Assist customers with special requests and answer questions about meat products.
• Operate equipment such as meat saws, slicers, grinders, and wrapping machines.

Meat cutters are responsible for ensuring the meat cases are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality meat and poultry products for our customers. They receive, stock, cut, grind, wrap, weigh, price, and attractively merchandise meat department products. They also stock prepackaged meat items and frozen food products that fall under the meat department. They ensure proper inventory control and product rotation to maximize product freshness and availability, while minimizing waste. They assist customers with special request and answer questions about our meat products and services. Meat cutters work with equipment like meat saws, slicers, grinders, wrapping machines, and knives.
