Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Meat Cutter to join our Atlanta-area team. You will cut, prepare, display and sell meat products while upholding our standards for quality, safety and customer service.

You will also support trainees, maintain slicing and merchandising procedures, and help manage stocking, pricing and sanitation. Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Meat department knowledge including cuts and cooking techniques.
• Ability to deliver friendly, efficient service to customers and Team Members.
• Willingness to mentor trainees and follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.
• Prepares specialty meat products (sausages, oven-ready items, cured meats).
• Ensures products meet Whole Foods Market quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program and monitors spoilage to minimize waste.
• Mentors Meat Cutter Trainee(s) and supports team development.
• Arrives on time, groomed and ready to work; attends trainings and meetings.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking and merchandising.
• Follows procedures for weights, measures, health and sanitation, safety.
• Maintains clean, sanitary work and shopping areas; maintains equipment cleanliness.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures pricing accuracy.
• Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
