Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club, Columbia, MD is seeking a full-time Meat Cutter. You will receive, rotate, cut, wrap and merchandise fresh and processed meats and assist in seafood and deli areas. Must have open availability between 5 am and 2 pm, Sundays through Saturdays.

Responsibilities include cutting, grinding, weighing, packaging, labeling, maintaining inventory, and ensuring sanitation and safety standards in the meat department.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship is required.
• Previous meat cutting experience is required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages and provides assistance to our Members by making recommendations along with answering questions regarding meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Cuts, grinds, and/or processes fresh meats to company cutting standards.
• Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards.
• Rotates meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment and display fixtures in the meat department.
