Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Meat Department team member in California. You will perform general product preparation, stocking, merchandising, and customer service, and uphold our values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

This role requires lifting, operating equipment, reading shelf tags, and working weekends/holidays. You will keep temperature logs, rotate products, maintain cleanliness, assist customers, and support store operations to drive sales

Qualifications

• Weekend availability required.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs and product labels.
• Must work with cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate equipment.
• Meat work experience or similar food preparation experience.
• Dependability and integrity in all work tasks.
• Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks such as cutting, grinding, slicing, packaging and serving customers.
• Keep department temperature logs updated and maintained.
• Stock and display meat items safely and rotate properly.
• Ensure product quality and freshness through proper rotation.
• Maintain clean and organized sales areas, backrooms and coolers.
• Keep carts, tools and supplies organized in designated areas.
• Provide friendly customer and associate relations.
• Communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Unload trucks, sort orders and place in proper cooler locations.
• Wash and sanitize equipment following policies and health rules.
• Create a friendly impression and greet customers with quality foods.
• Support sales growth through coordination with retail operations and marketing.
