Job summary

Fresh Thyme Market in Chicago seeks a Meat Cutter to keep meat cases stocked and presented, assist customers, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

You will weigh, wrap, label products, monitor temperatures, follow dating procedures, and help with pre-inventory and back stock in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 2+ years in meat department, and familiarity with knives and meat machinery; experience in natural foods is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of professional meat department experience.
• Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Stocks meat cases with product, facing, filling, and organization per department schematics.
• Ensures cleanliness of meat aisles, storage areas and workspaces; cleans shelves and floors.
• Monitors rotation and expiration of meat products; maintains proper temperature and labeling procedures.
• Assists customers at the meat counter with purchases and product selection.
• Cuts, trays, and packages meat and seafood as required for daily needs.
