SpartanNash is seeking a Meat Cutter in the Sparta, Michigan area to properly cut all types of meats and prepare products per company standards. You will support the department by weighing, wrapping, pricing, and stocking meat items while ensuring safety, freshness, and attractive displays.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus one year of retail or meat cutting experience (apprentice considered). Strong reading, math, and attention to detail are necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year retail or related experience preferred.
• Prior meat cutter or apprentice experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops for individual servings.
• Produce value-added products per established guidelines.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections to cooking cuts.
• Follow established recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausage.
• Price, date, wrap and bag meat products per guidelines.
• Properly fill, rotate and merchandise shelves and displays.
• Notify the manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Receives, unloads, and stocks merchandise.
